Mr. Thoka Makorwane Patrick Kgoale is the new head of Administration and Accounting Officer of Thaba Chweu Local Municipality. Mr. Kgoale took office from the 2nd of May 2017. He hails from Burgerrecht Village, west of Polokwane City in Limpopo Province.
He obtained his Senior Certificate from Mabea High School twenty seven years ago. He holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from University of Limpopo previously known as University of the North. He holds further qualification in Bachelor of Administration (Hons), a Bachelor of Administration and Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Venda. He has also completed a three months Managing Migration course from University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Kgoale boast 18 years managerial experience and he grew through ranks from a junior manager to the first Director of Immigration Services at the biggest Airport in Africa, OR Tambo International Airport, being responsible for overall management of Immigration services. He had been deployed to National Headquarters of the Department of Home Affairs as the Director responsible for the overall coordination and strategic guidance to provinces on Deportation Services. Before joining the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality he worked as the Municipal Manager for Blouberg Local Municipality for five years. The Blouberg Municipality achieved an Unqualified Audit Opinion under his stewardship for 2013/14 financial year.
His new office bears the immense responsibility of ensuring that the Council’s mandate is implemented and also oversee the day to day delivery of services to the public. Mr. Kgoale emphasized the importance of good governance and prudent use of the Municipal resources as key focus area.
During the first meeting with staff at Lydenburg offices, he thanked the Acting Municipal Manager Mr. E Malungana for keeping the institution running. He promised that he will take over where he left and improve as he is not starting the municipality from the start. Service delivery is not negotiable. Residents have rights to demand that we spend their money wisely. It is up to each one of you to ensure that we keep our clients happy and satisfied at all times. “Let us all get our hands on the deck and deliver what is mandated of us. We are the sphere that is closer to the people. People have expectations from us. As a Team “we dare never fail” said Kgoale. In his closing remarks Kgoale encouraged staff members to work with care and diligence. Our intention is to better the lives and living condition of Thaba Chweu residents.
